The Story
Wuxi Smart CNC Equipment Group CO., LTD is a high-tech enterprise that specializes in product research and development, customized functionality, manufacturing, and after-sales service. The company mainly engages in the research, production, and sales of panel bender machine, self-driving mechanical arms, multi-axis concurrent linkage intelligent numerical control systems, and cloud-based operation and maintenance management platforms. The SMART CNC flexible bending center has fully independent intellectual property rights and has achieved true multi-axis concurrent linkage control. Each single control board supports 32-axis concurrent linkage and can achieve unlimited cascading.
The factory is located in the Jiangsu, covering an area of 50 acres with a factory area of 15,000 square meters. The monthly production capacity is 30 to 40 units, and the second phase of the project covers 200 acres and is currently under construction. Include the bottleneck of bending links due to the decrease in the selling price of laser cutting machines and the increasing cutting speed. For large quantities, diversified varieties, frequent mold changes, a large number of required bending workers, high work intensity, low bending efficiency, and difficult bending consistency. For example, in the door and elevator industry, the large size of the panels requires at least two skilled workers to operate the hydraulic bending machine, which not only consumes physical strength but also poses a high risk of occupational injuries. For processes involving tool changes and multiple bending, manual mold changes, repeated positioning, and feeding are very time-consuming and prone to errors, leading to a large number of scrapped workpieces. For different bending shapes, it is necessary to manufacture and store corresponding molds, which increases the production cycle and mold cost. The fastest speed is 0.2 seconds per knife, and multi-sided bending can be formed in one step, with an average of about 30 seconds per workpiece and 24-hour uninterrupted work. The device can easily meet the bending requirements of circular arcs, dead edges, loops, closed shapes, and other complex types of sheet metal. The SMART CNC graphical visualization programming system allows users to input the corresponding bending parameters according to the size of the workpiece to generate bending programs automatically. Ordinary workers can learn it in two hours. The system supports bending detection functions. If the bending parameters are abnormal, the system will automatically alarm and prompt the user.

Which types of products are suitable for panel bender processing?
Currently, the panel bender machine is best suited for bending metal sheet materials such as stainless steel, aluminum plates, and cold plates with a thickness of 0.35-3mm and sheet metal parts with more than two sides requiring bending. The standard bending height is 170mm, and custom bending heights up to 300mm are supported. The bending width does not exceed 2500mm, and the maximum size does not exceed 3200mm x 1500mm. The minimum size for four-sided forming is 80mm x 120mm, and the minimum inner size for double-sided bending is 80mm. The more complex the structure, the more bends and edges required, the more obvious the advantages of the intelligent flexible bending center.
For small batches of multiple varieties, there are two solutions for the sheet metal panel bending machine. For the bending center with manual tool change, an automatic online compensation function has been launched. During the proofing process, the length, height and angle can be adjusted online, and the adjusted parameters are automatically saved and recorded. Only one or two samples are required to set them up. In addition, an automatic tool change solution has also been introduced, which automatically changes the tool according to the shape of the workpiece. Lanhao provides a full set of 3D software simulation. After the workpiece is designed, it is imported into the system, and after system simulation and verification, it can be directly measured. This tool changing mode is not an imitation of foreign counterparts, but a unique way based on the concurrent linkage core technology. The comprehensive tool changing efficiency is the highest in the industry, with excellent operating speed, processing smoothness, and buffering control of the workpiece. It can accurately control the angle and extend the life of the mold. Real-time thickness detection also reaches the international first-class level.
The self-developed self-driving integrated robot arm and bending center of SMART CNC are controlled by the same system. When replacing the workpiece, the robot arm action is automatically generated without the need for secondary programming, which truly achieves seamless connection between different workpieces.
